For my inspired artist post, I want to focus on Filipe Pantone. Filipe Pantone is a Spanish- Argentinian artist who focuses on a form of abstract/ graffiti. It was at the age of 12 that Filipe started graffiti. But it wasn't until later that he graduated with a degree of Fine Art in Valencia. Filipe does street art and his pieces are larger scale and focus on black and white as well as technicolor elements. One of his recent pieces was in Lisbon, Portugal and was on the side of a building. Filipe uses paint for his pieces and is able to capture so much depth with it. Filipe also has a mural in Detroit, Michigan. That mural was made of spray paint, and captured a smooth transition between colors. These two murals as well as many others are shown on his website www.filepepantone.com
His art inspires me because of the sense of individuality that it expresses. All of his pieces art unique in their own way. Its also inspiring that his pieces are all around the world. From Portugal, to New York, to even Asia, Filipe is able to grasp a concept of a free spirit. |
